In this episode we talk about the subject of vectors. Vectors are quantities that have magnitude and direction.
First we make some announcements of two new courses in the LearningMeasure.com course catalog:
These two courses are part of a ASQ Certified Calibration Technician preparation program.
We also announce in this episode a new feature of LearningMeasure.com, “Programs.” Programs are grouping of courses that are part of a common purpose, all of which can be signed up for in a group with one click.
The concept of vector is introduced, along with the basic operations of adding, subtracting, and taking the dot product of vectors. Vectors in 2, 3, and N dimensions are introduced, as well as the concept of dimension itself. Eventually we make a connection with the last episode showing that integration may be considered a special kind of vector dot product.
We apologize for not getting an episode out sooner, there was a hardware failure with the machine used to render the podcast, and many files had to be reproduced (namely the configuration of the software had to be recreated, along with the opening sequence).
